Where do I start?

Updated: Aug 9, 2021

Clients often ask me how does the design process work and where do we start?

The best place to start is with an initial consultation with your Designer to talk about you and your space. This usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half, talking about your wants and needs, products, layout, timeframes and budgets. This will get the designers creative juices flowing.

Measurements are taken along with some photos of the site prior to any work

Based on your brief the Designer will go away to prepare a design concept and gather some materials as a starting point, this can take a couple of weeks...the Design process can't always be rushed!

Sometimes there are visits to take a look at products, be it stone slabs for bench tops or panel materials for doors and drawers, helping the designers get a good feel for your likes and dislikes

The next meeting is all about the Design, discussing and tweaking the details to get it just right for you, from here the drawings can be developed further to take to the Manufacturer for pricing.

A Proposal is drawn up and presented to you for your approval. The plan will be detailed with a floorplan and elevations. rendered drawings and 3D images will help you visualise the finished space.

Once all the details are agreed upon it's time to set a timeframe for the project...this is when the fun begins.
